You get student/teacher attention you might need. In college, this can be a huge tool to not falling your classes. However, if you’re one to miss class all the time, your professor will be likely to notice you aren’t there in those wonderfully small class sizes.

Living on campus especially, the friendships you make with your neighbors are wildly invaluable. When the campus shut down on the weekend and there doesn’t seem to be a soul for miles, there’s your doormies. Living on campus was THE easiest and best way to make friends. I definitely became even more of a hermit when I moved into my apartment. But then I got a dog. I prefer her to most people anyway.

You are going to be ridiculously jelly of your friends going to the bigs schools for two very important reason. The first and most important to me was the gear. Victoria secrect, jamberry, all these companies have adorable appeal and accessories for the large schools. Nobody knows about the University of West Florida (alumni right here). And that can damage your school spirit a bit. They say be true to your school but the invisible hand here is taking you in its grasp and crushing you and excitement about showing off where you go to school.

I was never into sports really, my dad kinda ruined football for me growing up. But even I felt  nostalgic of high school when we had the opportunity to go to games every Friday night. There wasn’t anything to do! Plus you would get on Facebook and see all your old friends at their schools tailgating and partying it up in the their adorable school gear. Instant gel and wishing you were there.

As mentioned in pro #2 the weekend is a ghost town. I like my privacy, easy parking, not being kept up by other as well as woken up so I didn’t mind this. But at 8pm on Friday and it’s just you for the weekend it’s kind of like, really? Now what?

Room for growth. While in college you have a million chances to create a club or make an existing one better. College is a once in a life time chance. Being young and finding who you are while putting yourself to limits is a special thing. It’s hard, emotional, fun, stupid and practically every adjective in the dictionary. You grow and the college will too. Maybe when you are taking your kids around when their young and love everything you do they’ll be like “wow guys, you’re amazing, this school is amazing, and I want to go here too. Just like you.”IMG_0293.jpg
